Why Did You Become a Dentist?

Dr. Raiffe enjoys being able to use his hands and engage his brain at the same time, which led him directly to dentistry. He has been working in the dental field since he was 13 years old at his father’s practice, and he knew this was the right choice for his future. Dr. Raiffe observed his father and fell in love with the clinical side of dentistry as well as the idea of owning a business. Now that he has excelled in both of these goals, he loves coming to work every day.

What Is Your Background in Dentistry?

Front of academic building

A native of Cleveland, OH, Dr. Raiffe attended Barrett, The Honors College at Arizona State University for his undergraduate studies. After that, he graduated from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine – Arizona. For one year following dental school, he trained with the Dick Barnes Group, and within two years, he became an accredited member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology. In fact, he is the youngest dentist to earn Accreditation, and he is only one of a few in Phoenix Valley with this qualification. As part of his continuing education coursework, Dr. Raiffe has studied with SPEAR Education, one of the nation’s top training organizations.

What Do You Do Outside the Dental Office?

When Dr. Raiffe isn’t helping and treating patients, he is very active. He enjoys playing pickleball, lifting weights, and cycling. Also, his love of learning doesn’t just apply to dentistry—he loves to learn all sorts of new things, which inspires his passion for reading and travel. In his free time, he also likes to be creative by making children’s illustration books. In addition, he remains close with his father, mother (who owns a candy store), and his two grown sisters.
